Simple Stories I am Class

Hi, here are some pages I made using the I Am collection from Simple Stories for A Trip Down Memory Lane.  You can find the instructions here if you would like to make any of the pages.

I used a large banner for this page and used accents of the jade dot paper to make everything stand out on the pink background.  There is a beautiful paper in this line with loads of type-written words, so I cut some of the words and phrases out to embellish my layout as well as using lots of the stickers.

A page with me in - I need to add the journalling, but I started with the foiled I Am base paper and then cut out the banner from the 6 by 4" cards as well as a few of the feathers - they all have gold foiling and the photos don't do it justice.  I added some of the floral stickers on foam pads to add some dimension too.

Another page with me on - they don't happen that often, so it it good to be forced to document it with these papers.  I have an area next to the photo for journalling.  The base of the journal spot is piled with stickers and embellishments cut from the papers, another strip of the beautiful type-written paper decorated with more of the stickers.

These are all holiday photos - I'm still making my album for our massive trip last year!

Awesome with Life in Color

Life in Color is one of the new BoBunny collections and it is beautiful - I love the colours and also that the papers work really well for the men in your life as well as girls too.  I had a play with lots of different things on this page and you can see a fuller write up on the BoBunny blog - here

I had a bit of a play with the rust powder and regents from Pentart - they are fantastic.

I used some texture paste and the dot stencil and then ran lots of colours through it.

Here is one of the new dies - it comes with the crowns, but there are also keys and locks and they just look beautiful with the Pentart metallic waxes.

You can also find out about how I made this title using Porcelain/Glass paints.

Winter Wishes cards

Here are some cards I made for BoBunny using Winter Wishes - I made up a load of flowers using their flower dies, and then added jewels to the centre.  One of the make and takes I did at the ATDML retreat was using some Martha Stewart molds and air dry clay to make the frame and also the butterfly on the pink card - I added some of the glimmer mist and glitter to make them sparkle.

I added lots of paint drips to the cards, and also a mix of the bead paste, along the top of the card frame, and then some glitter paste on the flowers, and gold glitter paste on the clay frame.

Inside the frame I used some of the silver foiled vellum from the Winter Wishes papers.

I did use quite a bit of glitter paste - I love the sugar one and all the colours that are in it, you can see the layers of flowers - I just bent up the petals a little bit - and again you can see some of the bead paste around them.  The pink splatters are some watered down Pentart acrylic paint - the pigment content in the paints is really good so the colours are strong even when you water them down.

This is a close up on the clay butterfly, washed pink with some more acrylic paint.

Chalkola pens...

I was sent some Chalkola pens by Anuj at Chalkola - here is a link and you can find them on amazon here and here (the other good news is you can get a 15% discount with this code 15OFFSTR).  They are loads of fun and work well on non-porous surfaces, like windows....we could have had hours of fun just being daft.  I also thought that they would make nice window decorations for parties and with snowflakes in winter etc. The colours are nice and bright, and you can wash them off with water - you get a bit of a chalky residue mixed in the water so I used a second cloth to dry up the water and pick this up as I went.

I don't have a big chalkboard in my kitchen, but I do have a black fridge, so again lots of colourful writing and some pictures.

I wanted to try them out on a scrapbook page, my tip would be that you should use a fixative like hairspray over the top of the chalk before you stick your photos on, as it is chalk it can smudge slightly when you use it on paper...however the colours work beautifully on dark cardstock - some work better than others, like the green, orange and yellow.

I had a play with lots of colourful doodling...there is no patterned paper at all on this page!
