Happiness with Kaisercraft and Indigo Blu

A while back Jill at ATDML introduced me to Indigo Blu flakes, and I haven't used them in a little while, but did a little bit of stamping on this page - I used the autumn coloured flakes and you can just see little bits poking out from behind my flowers and papers - it adds a really beautiful foil effect to the page which is much prettier in real life (the camera doesn't do it justice).  I've used the Bombay Sunset papers from Kaisercraft and I love the bold colours on this backing sheet, so went to work matching some old prima flowers and then lots of Bobunny glitter pastes to the colours too.  This page is just really layers, layers of papers and ephemera and flowers - I also dyed my gauze with a bit of gold glimmer mist too.

The photo is from a recent holiday in the Peak District - and I love the moment...it looks like a hug, but in fairness it could also be a pat on the shoulder to say...I nearly taller than you too (he had to get something out of a cupboard for me the other day as I couldn't quite reach it!).

I layered up lots of the prima flowers and added a little bit of glitter paste to the petals.

Lots of layering and distressing - you can see a little bit more of the foiling...just!.

The Code

Another page using Kaisercraft's Basecoat papers, and this is all Basecoat 4 apart from the Stickers which are from Scrapyard.  One of the Basecoat 4 papers has a blue brick wall, so I cut this out and stick it onto the metal rivet style background.  I then distressed a mix of the other papers, and added a few cogs from a Tim Holtz die set.  I echoed the same mix of colours behind the title, the stickers are from October Afternoon.

The photo is from our holiday and on the Intrepid where you could spell out your name in morse code...you could also have a go at a simulation on landing one of the Space Shuttles as well as learn about Vietnam and see loads of planes - it was a really interesting place to visit.

Smell the Flowers

Here is a page I made for BoBunny for the one layout 3 ways - if you want to see the steps to it becoming this then do check out this post on their blog.  I used their Weekend Adventure papers, and lots of the new stamps which I layered up.  I also had a play with their new stencils and the Pentart metallic stencil paste...and the new dies.  It was great fun making it and the finishing touch was lots of little pearls made from their pearlescents.

It is another Peak District photo - on our walk we came across a beautiful wild field of buttercups, so I made the kids pose for a photo as I loved the colours!

Choose Happy

Here is a little Bombay Sunset from Kaisercraft - lots of beautiful cerise and greens, the colour combination is lovely.  I teamed it with some of the pentart rich gold glamour acrylic, and also used lots of BoBunny pearlescents to add little pearls to the flowers and the papers.  I decided to semi-frame my picture...and created little tears alone the edge where I could add little layers from the embellishment pack in this range, you can see a little bit more in the detail shots.  I also used some of the stickers and a couple of quite old prima resins which seemed to go really well with the papers.  As always Kaisercraft has some beautiful sayings to add to the page.

The shot is from our recent holiday in the Peak District - which is just gorgeous and we went on the Dovedale walk again...the kids a little bigger, but they still enjoyed it just as much - and got an ice-cream at the end!

Smile with Kaisercraft

Hi, in June I got 2 beautiful Kasiercraft ranges to work with from A Trip Down Memory Lane.  This page is mostly made from Basecoat - a really nice grungey style of paper that you can layer with any of their other lines (so there are a few different lines on this page) and Bombay Sunset which is packed with colour - the word Smile is from that range as well as the green papers.

I started the page with some gesso, and then sprinkled Paper Artsy Infusions into the gesso, I then spritzed with water to activate them, and let them drip down the page.  In the infusions is some walnut stain so the colours also have a brown that develops in them, which is lovely for vintage and grungey style pages.  Once that was all dry I dug through a mixture of Kaisercraft collections to add stickers and cards - some is from Kaleidoscope, some from Barber Shop and Blue Bay.  I added a little bit of punching as well as some silver thread, and really just lots of layers.

The photos are from a day out to the Greenwich Tall Boat festival and a trip we made to have a look around the Christian Radich.

Love with Simple Stories

Here is another page using Simple Stories Domestic Bliss -really clean and simple.  I started with a diagonal cut across the house paper, and then just added layers around my photo.  I love that the colours of this range blend really well with other Simple Stories ranges, so I can look through all my sticker sheets to find embellishments that match.  I added a few strips of twine and one of the Prima Bark hearts - I still love these and have a few stars as well as hearts left.

The photo is from a coffee shop trip where my kids love to get hot chocolates piled with cream - always a good stop on a shopping trip!

You can see even more inspiration in the ATDML gallery - here is the link.

Together

Here is a page I made with Reset Girl from Simple Stories - I love Simple Stories, but I didn't look too closely at this line because it is fairly feminine....however I love it!!  I used lots of frames to make a kind of comic strip of the day and a game of cricket between my kids and my nephew - I love that some of the other ranges have the same colours so I could fit in some We R Family frames and also a little bit from Carpe Diem too, and all the colours worked together beautifully.....there are also Domestic Bliss stickers in there too.

I have a new page on the ATDML blog - this month we are using Kaisercraft papers and if you would like to check out more of my Simple Stories pages you can also have a look in their gallery.

Relentless

I had loads of fun making this page - it started with lots of splatters with the new BoBunny metallic paints, then I layered up lots of Simple Stories Domestic Bliss stickers and tapes, and then all sorts of goodies from my stash.  For this page I didn't use my trusty guillotine but hand cut all the papers, which was really fun, and I like all the slightly jaunty angles it creates.

These photos made me laugh - my sister trying to get a photo with my son in it too - I have to say he is really good about letting me still take photos of him...grown up with a scrapping Mum, but this is what he thought of my sister trying to get a photo!!

You Are Amazing

Hi, here is a page I did for the BoBunny blog - you can have a look at it here.  I used lots of their new products including the Serendipity paper collection and their new masks and mandala and doily dies.

The photo is from Kew Gardens and was a nice chance to catch my kids together - they are still quite obliging - so they must be used to having a Mum who demands photos to document our adventures together!

I am 11

Scrapbook Page Simple Stories Domestic Bliss by Katherine Sutton

Each month Ann Freeman sets everyone a challenge over on the ATDML blog and you can win a £5 gift voucher...this month she used this image...

I loved the squares and the large writing, so I dug out some Domestic Bliss papers (and there is a little bit of Reset Girl in there too) and set to work.  I have been playing a bit more with hand cutting papers rather than using a guillotine to get a different (slightly messier) effect - I can't cut straight!  I cut out several squares using a template to make sure they were around the 4" square size, then set layering them up.  For my large alphabet I used the WRMK mini alphabet punch board for the title and in the process discovered there is an app that you can get which shows you all the patterns for the different letters and numbers!  I then used lots of stickers and added some enamel dots too.

Do check out the link above if it inspires you to and share your page.

Wake up with a Smile

Hello everyone, here is a page I made for A Trip Down Memory Lane - it uses a mix of Kaisercraft's Ubud Dreams and Sea Breeze papers.  I decided to use lots of the patterns together and cut lots of different length strips - it's a great design for using up those odd bits of papers.  I distressed and layered the edges of each of the pieces.  I used my Tim Holtz mixed media dies and some cogs, then just used lots of bits of the Collectables and the title is from the Seabreeze paper Lake.

The photo is a wintry beach walk, and this young man is normally a very smily, joyful person who brings lots of laughter to our lives, so the words seemed to fit.

Here is a close up of some of the Tim Holtz dies - I used the waste hexagons too.  Also you can see all the beautiful layers of papers.

Follow your Heart with BoBunny Down by the Sea and a video

Hi - firstly Happy National Scrapbooking Day!  To celebrate I wanted  to share with you my first video for BoBunny.  The video takes you through some of their new products and also shows how I made the page from start to finish and a fun effect with crackle medium -  I really hope you enjoy it.  The video is at the end of my post or you can just go to their Utube channel here which shows you all of their videos.

I won't write too much more as you can see it all in the video, but they have some beautiful new products - the papers are lovely and the dies sand stencils are gorgeous.

Have a lovely scrappy day :)

Smile and Family with Pebbles Simple Life

This is the 2nd class that I created for the A Trip Down Memory Lane retreat using Simple Life by Pebbles - I love the yellow and blues in this line.  My pages were focussed on having white space, and were really clean - a more gentle introduction to the weekend before my messier class that I posted on Monday!  The puffy stickers in this range are really nice - they have a mat finish to them which I love.

Here is the 2nd page, I couldn't resist a little bit of cosmic shimmer ancient copper mist across the white space, just little bits of embossing and lots of tags, you could add more photos if you wanted.

It was a really fun weekend with lots of inspiration and loads of different styles of classes to do, from the messy to clean and simple and easy to put together.  I will show you some of the pages I made during the other classes over the coming weeks.

My Boys and Life is Good with BoBunny Life in Color and rust...

Over Easter A Trip Down Memory Lane hosted their bi-annual retreat just outside of Colchester, and I taught 2 classes.  Here is one of them using the beautiful Life in Color papers by BoBunny - they are a great set, especially in my mind for the boys in your life, but that don't let that stop you from using them for girls!  We used the Pentart iron powder and reagents to create a rust effect on a Tando chipboard clock, and then did bits of stamping and fussy cutting to create the first page.

Here is a close up of the rust.

we cut out lots of the frames and distressed the edges of the papers.

For the second page we used BoBunny's graphite glitter paste through a brick stencil and some petrol coloured pearls.  Lost of layering and a little bit of fussy cutting to create this page.

The graphite glitter paste adds a really soft glitter to the page, and works with stencils really well.
